The
Music for Young Children® Program
The
MYC® program is a carefully balanced music program for
children aged 3 - 11 that combines instruction in keyboard, singing, solfege,
rhythm, ear training, sight reading, theory, history and composing into one lesson.
The different levels in the program are especially designed for different age
groups. Our dynamic teaching methods use auditory, visual, analytic, tactile and
gross & fine motor activities in carefully prepared lesson plans to teach
and reinforce musical techniques and concepts. We use many proven early childhood
education techniques that are designed to motivate and educate young children.
Children look forward to, and enjoy, their music lessons! Graduates of this program
normally have completed Grade 1 Piano and Preliminary Rudiments Theory and also
have a very broad and solid foundation in sight reading, singing, history, rhythm,
theory and composition. They are extremely well prepared and very highly motivated
to continue studies in private lessons in voice, piano or any other instrument.
This year there are over 17,000 students enrolled in the Music for Young
Children program.
Why
should your child begin music with Miss Jane's MYC ? - Because
it's fun !! (In addition to being of superior quality, very comprehensive, confidence
building and a wonderful way to begin the study of music.)
- Because
the child and parent bond as a "music team" during lessons and that
carries on at home during daily practice and other family activities.
- Because this progam
provides so much musicianship training to young children that it's got to be seen
and heard to be believed !!
- Because
a 66% student return rate and a 90% teacher return rate make a statement about
the outstanding quality of the program.
- Because
21,000 happy students a year can't be wrong !!
